‘Fireball Run’ episodes feature Topsail Beach

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A popular show that raises awareness for missing children with a viewing audience of 6 million people features Topsail Island.

You may remember the Race to Recover America’s Missing Children rolled onto Topsail Beach last year. The internet hit show, “Fireball Run” featured the Topsail Island area in some episodes of Season 9, and now you can watch them for free!

The run brings more than 50 teams and a viewing audience of more than 6 million to each destination. Teams explore the region’s attractions and history through challenges, including target shooting with the Belle of Topsail and the Raven,  and working with endangered sea turtles at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue Center.

Some teams learned to surf at the Surf City Surf School, and did stand-up paddle board yoga on the intracoastal. Between challenges, teams raise awareness for missing children by distributing posters of a child.
