Firefighter and car wash employee injured
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A car wash employee and firefighter are both recovering tonight after injuries they suffered at a Leland car wash, according Leland Fire Chief John Grimes.
Leland Police, Fire and EMS crews arrived on the scene after Grimes says an employee’s foot got caught in the car wash conveyor belt. It happened at Carolina Shores Car Wash just of US 17 near Waterford.
Grimes says firefighters were able to free the employee, but one the firefighters was cut in the process. The firefighter had to get stitches.
