Crews battle late night fire at Wilmington home

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Fire destroyed a Wilmington home late Wednesday night.

The fire occurred at 6011 Cedar Ridge Drive and was reported around 10:21 p.m..

Firefighters from the Wilmington Fire Department and New Hanover County Fire Services responded to the scene.

When the first crews arrived, they reported seeing heavy flames and smoke coming from the garage door area of the home.

Firefighters searched the home and didn’t find anyone inside. No one was injured.

The fire was deemed accidental and caused an estimated $130,000 in damage to both the structure and contents.

The American Red Cross is assisting the residents who lived in the home.
