Firefighters get hero bears to help children in crisis

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — The Southport Fire Department is getting a helping hand from some furry friends.

The fire department posted a thank you on its Facebook page to firefighter Brent Wells, who worked to get Vermont Teddy Bears sent to the department.

The bears will be given to children who are in crisis.

Firefighters will carry the bears on their fire trucks so they will be readily available.
