FIRST ON 3: Teen indicted for murder in Marine’s party death
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A teen charged with killing a Marine now faces a murder charge.
A New Hanover County Grand Jury indicted Jackson Davies yesterday on second-degree murder and felony death by motor vehicle. The 19-year-old East Carolina University student was originally charged with felony death by motor vehicle after a Feb. 16 incident on Rose Ave. In Wilmington.
Investigators say a fight at a frat party early that morning led to Davies hitting and killing Cory Reese, 22.
A judge doubled Davies’s bond to $100,000 today. Davies has not yet turned himself in on the new charge.
