First ever NC Wildflower festival brings hundreds to Rocky Point
ROCKY POINT, NC (WWAY) — Hundreds of people came out to celebrate Mother’s Day at the first ever North Carolina Wildflower Festival.
The festival took place at Old Homestead Farm. There was plenty to do, from inflatable slides, arts and crafts and a helicopter ride. The festival went on all weekend and organizers say they wanted the festival in Rocky Point because the locations is perfect for it.
“it’s fantastic. This has been months and months of preparation. And it’s happening. People are enjoying it. We’ve had great feedback so it’s unbelievable that it’s all come together so nicely,” festival director David Crook said.
Crook says this is only the beginning and they want to host more festivals in this area. Some of the proceeds from the festival will go to Rocky Point Elementary School.
