First in line waited over 12 hours to meet Donald Trump
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — With a beanbag chair and portable cell phone charger at the ready, John Weber is excited to get inside Trask Coliseum and hear presidential nominee Donald Trump speak.
“I’ve been here since 11 p.m. last night,” Weber said. That’s over 12 hours waiting in line.
“I was looking for any way I could to get attention from Mr. Trump, or his family, or the Trump campaign to get the opportunity to get a picture with him,” Weber said.
Weber said he has gotten photos with all the other folks who ran for president this year on both sides, except Trump. He’s hoping to change that today.
“I’ve met the rest, not I want to meet the best,” Weber said.
Weber, a Trump supporter, said he loves that Trump speaks his mind and said he thinks Trump is just like the average American citizen and can better connect with the people than other candidates.
“It’s been worth it because you have to go through something to get to something in life and hopefully I get to meet Mr. Trump,” Weber said.
