First MDA Toast to Life held in Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Muscular Dystrophy Association of the Coastal Carolinas held a gala party Friday night to raise funds for muscle disease and research.
It was the first MDA Toast to Life gala held in Wilmington. One of the event’s honorees was Wilmington Health CEO Jeff James.
He explains why the cause is so important to him and his family.
“So our family has a very personal connection with this cause. Our son Cole was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in 2012,” James said.
The event featured live auctions, dinner and dancing. Good Morning Carolina’s Randy Aldridge emceed the event.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is dedicated to finding treatments and cures for Muscular Dystrophy, ALS and other neuromuscular diseases.
