First NC sea turtle nest of 2020 season found at Fort Fisher

PLEASURE ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — The 2020 sea turtle nesting season is underway in North Carolina.

The Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project reports the first nest in the state was found at Fort Fisher over the weekend.

Nesting season typically lasts from May through August.
