First round of high school playoffs set for Friday night

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s playoff time for high school football. The first round of the state playoffs will be held on Friday. Make sure you check out WWAY’s 5th Quarter on Friday night for a recap of games involving local squads.

Class 3-AA East

12 Chapel Hill (8-3) at 5 West Brunswick (5-6)

Class 3-A East

15 South Brunswick (4-7) at 2 Eastern Alamance (11-0)

Class 2-A East

11 North Brunswick (6-5) at 6 Southwest Edgecombe (8-3)

Class 2-A East

16 Red Springs (4-7) at 1 East Bladen (9-2)

13 Warren County (6-5) at 4 South Columbus (5-6) 7pm

Class 1-AA East

16 Spring Creek (2-8) at 1 Wallace-Rose Hill (10-1)

15 Pender (2-9) at 2 James Kenan (9-1)

All games will be played at 7:30 except the South Columbus game. That’s a 7pm start.
