Flight 22 to host 10th annual MLK Day Jam

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)–It’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday and there will be tons of celebrations around the Cape Fear area. There will even be high school basketball teams hitting the hardwood to celebrate the legacy of Doctor King.

Flight 22 basketball will hosting the 10th annual MLK Jam at Heide Trask high school. Monday will be full of action starting at 10:30 A.M with six games throughout the day. The basketball showcase and celebration will feature 12 different teams from the state of North Carolina. There will even be halftime performance from the Laney dance team and the Snipe Academy Dribbling All-Stars.

“It is another day to get games in that are non-conference with match ups that you may see going into the playoffs. That is apart of it, then the other part was just having a celebration that the community could come to. Nothing is better than sports and basketball,”said Flight 22 Founder Nathan Faulk.

10:30 A.M- Laney (GIRLS) vs. Seventy-First (GIRLS)
12:00 P.M- Seventy-First vs. Hoggard
1:30 P.M- Laney vs. Hoke
3:00 P.M- South Columbus vs. East Duplin
4:30 P.M- South Brunswick vs. Purnell Swett
6:00 P.M- Wilmington Christian Academy vs. Union
