Flytrap Frolic highlights native carnivorous plants
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The 15th annual Flytrap Frolic took place Sunday at the Stanley Rehder Carnivorous Plant Garden, offering free educational activities focused on native carnivorous plants.
The NC Coastal Land Trust hosted the event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the garden, which sits behind Alderman Elementary School. Attendees took part in guided walks, hands-on activities, and educational demonstrations.
Organizers provided information on local wetland habitats and plant species, including the Venus flytrap. Visitors also participated in arts and crafts and visited informational tables set up throughout the garden.
Event staff made ethically sourced Venus flytraps available for purchase while supplies lasted.
More details about future events at the garden are expected to be announced by the NC Coastal Land Trust.
