FOCUS Broadband getting out of cable TV business, offering DirecTV discount

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — FOCUS Broadband says it is getting out of the cable television business.
The company cites rising programming costs and the growing shift towards more affordable streaming options.
FOCUS will continue offering internet services. It is offering a discount to people who will switch their cable services to “DirecTV via Internet”: the satellite-free alternative DirecTV now offers.
For a limited time, FOCUS is offering a discount to customers who use FOCUS to switch cable services to DirecTV while keeping internet streaming service through FOCUS.
The company says it will offer customers $10 per month off DirecTV for Internet, which requires a 24 month agreement.
The offer is good through March 31.
