Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation awards grant to The Salvation Army of the Cape Fear

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Salvation Army of the Cape Fear received a $3,000 grant from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed those experiencing hunger.

The grant supports community feeding partners by helping neighbors increase their access to nutritious food and education to eliminate health risks to those facing food insecurity.

“We are honored to receive this donation from the Food Lion Feeds program in support of our nightly Community Meals and our food pantry,” said Major Ken Morris, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army of Cape Fear.

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation was established in 2001 and since its inception has awarded nearly $25 million in grant funding to help nourish communities with fresh food.
