Food thrown out after cleaning chemical spill at Surf City Elementary and Middle School

SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — A cleaning chemical spill caused food to be thrown out at Surf City Elementary and Middle School.

According to a Town of Surf City Facebook post, a cleaning chemical was accidentally spilled, prompting the fire department to respond as a precautionary measure.

Because of the spill, they are disposing of any and all food that was previously prepared and will be serving prepackaged meals and/or freshly cooked meals.
