Food Truck Rodeo draws vendors from around North Carolina
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Hundreds of people came to to the Food Truck Rodeo Sunday afternoon at Hugh MacRae Park. There were 31 food trucks at the event from all around the state.
The Food Truck Rodeo has been going on for several years now. The New Hanover County Parks Conservancy helps put the event on twice a year.
Justin Gibson is one of the board members and says they hold events like this to raise money for the parks around the county.
“You know, it’s important that people support these awesome things in our city because if we don’t support them, then they won’t get funded,” said Gibson. “So we bring people out to the parks with the Food Truck Rodeo and we also use that as another way to fundraise for some of the other initiatives that we’re working on.”
Gibson says the money raised at the Food Truck Rodeo will be used to hold other events in the park. He says the event gets bigger and bigger every year.
