Football coaches get schooled on safety

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Football coaches from all over the area gathered together today at the Brigade Boys and Girls Club in Wilmington to talk safety for their players.

USA Football Master Trainers held a clinic for the coaches to talk about ways to improve training conditions and prevent concussions. They talked about everything from proper hydration to down time after an injury.

The trainers said clinics like this are important because if the kids stay safe, they have more fun, and that’s what the sport is all about.
