Former actress puts Jester’s Cafe up for sale in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A former actress and longtime Wilmington resident is selling her neighborhood cafe.

Sydney Penny owns Jester’s Cafe on Castle Street in Wilmington.

After moving to the area in 2005, Penny bought the cafe from a friend and was excited to begin a new chapter with a family business.

Over time, changes to Penny’s life made running the cafe harder, especially with the recent loss of her husband.

She says the experience is one she is very grateful for, but now she hopes to pass that blessing on.

“I certainly hope that whoever steps in here will love it as much as we have and find new facets and aspects of it that we haven’t yet discovered and keep it going for the community as it grows, and that it will be a blessing to them as well,” said Penny.

Details as far as a potential closing date have not yet been determined.
