Former Commissioner steps down from New Hanover Community Endowment board

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Patricia Kusek has resigned from the Board of Directors for the New Hanover Community Endowment.
Kusek was appointed to the board by New Hanover County Commissioners in September 2023. Kusek previously served a four-year term as a County Commissioner and served as Vice Chair in 2020. She was also the first female Chair of the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority, and served as Chair of the Cape Fear Community College Board of Trustees.
NHCE chairman Bill Cameron released a statement regarding Kusek’s exit from the Endowment Board, stating: “We thank Patricia for her work on our first strategic grant cycle and wish her well going forward.”
This latest shake-up follows the exit of former Endowment President and CEO William Buster earlier this month.
The New Hanover Community Endowment was established from the sale of the county-owned New Hanover Regional Medical Center to Novant Health in 2020.
