Former Southport Alderman Tom Lombardi has died

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — The City of Southport announced the death of former Alderman Tom Lombardi.

Lombardi served Southport on the Board of Alderman from 2019-2023.

Prior to becoming an Alderman, Lombardi was a member of the Beautification Committee and the Board of Adjustment.

In a Facebook post, the City of Southport said, “Mr. Lombardi was a thoughtful and engaged leader who worked collaboratively with fellow board members, city staff, and the community to advance the long-term interests of Southport. He was known for his willingness to listen, his love of volunteerism, his respect for differing viewpoints, and his genuine care for the residents he represented.”

No other information including funeral arrangements have been released at this time.
