Former Vice President Mike Pence to deliver Dare to Learn Lecture at UNCW

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Former Vice President Mike Pence will deliver the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s fall 2025 Chancellor’s Dare to Learn Lecture.
The event is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in Kenan Auditorium.
Pence served as the 48th Vice President of the United States from 2017–2021, following terms as Governor of Indiana and as a U.S. Congressman. In 2021, he founded the policy organization Advancing American Freedom. He is also the author of two books: So Help Me God and Go Home for Dinner.
The Dare to Learn Lecture series highlights leadership and the university’s Latin motto, Discere Aude, which translates to “dare to learn.” Past speakers include astronaut Scott Kelly, former U.S. Ambassador Aldona Woś, and political strategists Donna Brazile and Karl Rove.
“We are honored to welcome Vice President Pence to UNCW for our signature public lecture series,” Chancellor Aswani K. Volety said in a statement. “As a university that ‘dares to learn,’ UNCW values providing students with opportunities to hear from leaders whose experiences inspire the free exchange of thoughts and opinions within a campus climate of civility and mutual respect.”
