Former Wrightsville Beach Alderman arrested on sex charges

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A former Wrightsville Beach alderman has been arrested in Western North Carolina on sex charges.
According the the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, Trey Jordan, 53, was booked on Saturday, Nov. 23 on a number of counts of indecent liberties with a child and statutory rape.
A spokesman for the sheriff’s office says the warrants were issued by the Wrightsville Beach Police Department.
Jordan is a former police officer who also worked with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy.
He was also a Wrightsville Beach alderman, but did not run for re-election after an investigation eventually led him to pled guilty in 2007 to soliciting a $2,500 bribe.
