Founders Park re-opens with “Leland in Lights”
LELAND, NC (WWAY)– Founders Park, located on Town Hall Drive, reopened its doors with the return of “Leland in Lights.” The event kicked off when Santa Clause flipped the switch to light up the entire park, including the big Christmas tree in front of the town hall.
Attendees who joined the festivities on Saturday, could enjoy all the holiday light displays throughout the park, which included “Snow” bubbles. Attendants could also take a trip on a train to ride around the park.
Leland project manager Will Lear, says this amazing event was not only a great way to get into the holiday spirit, but to also showcase the re-opening of Founders Park after years of renovation.
“It marks the opening of our park. We still have some construction going on. We have got an amphitheater that is still being constructed. This has been a long time coming. The construction that has happened to the park over the years ran into some hiccups, but it’s great to welcome people back to the park,” said Lear
“Leland in Lights” will remain open until January 4th, 2026.
