Free on-street parking available in downtown Wilmington for holiday weekend

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Shoppers heading into downtown Wilmington for Thanksgiving weekend will be able to park for free on city streets from Thursday through Sunday, according to the City of Wilmington.

City officials announced the temporary parking change ahead of one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. The free parking period is meant to support holiday shoppers, local businesses, and residents making last-minute Thanksgiving purchases.

The city said the free on-street parking applies throughout the downtown area and covers several major shopping days, including Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.

Parking rates will return to normal on Monday.
