Frying Pan Tower cam: Michael’s power on display
WILMINGTON, NC (WNCN) — An American flag that became famous during Hurricane Florence may be gone but its replacement is being battered by a new storm.
A camera on the Frying Pan tower, which is located about 35 miles off of the North Carolina coast, showed Hurricane Florence’s wrath in real time.
Michael has been downgraded to a tropical storm since making landfall on the Florida panhandle but its power is on display at the Frying Pan tower’s camera.
The flag damaged during Hurricane Florence was named “Kevin” and was auctioned off for nearly $11,000 after the storm.
