Gaston Police officer charged with rape, SBI says
HALIFAX COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — On Wednesday, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office to assist with an investigation.
The SBI says they investigated allegations against a Gaston police officer.
Roderick Howard, 34, of Roanoke Rapids was charged with one count of statutory rape.
Court documents say he abused “a child under the age of 13.”
On Thursday, Howard was given a $750,000 secured bond.
