Glitter bomb, note saying ‘make better decisions’ sent to NC commissioner

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — The Wake County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating after a glitter bomb was sent to the vice chairman of the Wake County Board of Commissioners Greg Ford.

Ford confirmed the device was sent to his home and that his 8-year-old daughter opened the package. Ford said his daughter thought it was a toy they’d ordered off Amazon.

“The glitter did get in her eyes and a little in her mouth. Big noise. It pretty much startled her and (she) started crying,” Ford said.

It happened earlier this month.

The device included a message urging the recipient to go to a website to see if the sender left a note. Investigators said they did. They wrote, “make better decisions next time.”

“It’s one thing to disagree with policy or practices or with things like that. But I think this thing is beyond the pale,” Ford said.
