GLOW Academy awarded $20,000 from Chick-fil-A
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The GLOW Academy does its part to guide young girls in the community to a successful future. And with a new donation, even more work can be done.
The Chick-fil-A foundation awarded GLOW Academy with $20,000 dollars for getting second place in the True Inspiration Awards. Chick-fil-A came to the school and gave Mini Moos to girls at the school and even brought their mascot along. Senior Development Director, Bob Jones, believes this is an amazing opportunity to help the girls.
“Right now, we’re on a campaign to build a new campus. And to have funds this significant come to us, it’s going to mean a lot. It’s not just going to mean a lot to the campus, but to all the GLOW girls, the entire glow community. We’re really thankful. It’s a great opportunity to work with them and continue our relationship with Chick-fil-A,” Jones said.
GLOW was just one of many nominees for the Atlantic Region, which included organizations in North and South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia and many other states.
