GoFundMe started for Castle Hayne murder-suicide victim’s family
CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — We have new details on a murder-suicide in New Hanover County that left one family without a mother.
On Bowman drive Monday, 35-year-old Aurora Rosendo-Ortega was shot and killed by Avelino Jaimes-Acuna in an act of domestic violence. Jaimes-Acuna then committed suicide.
Rosendo-Ortega’s 18-year-old son Santiago was also shot while trying to protect his mother.
A GoFundMe has been started to help cover funeral costs.
At last check, the GoFundMe has already raised more than half of the $25,000 goal.
