Good safety tips on saving your Christmas tree
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– Throughout the winter season, many people buy real Christmas Trees, like the one’s at Amber Dale’s Pumpkin Patch.
According to the National Fire Protection Association, one in four house fires that happens during the holiday season is started by a Christmas Tree.
Kevin McDonald, the owner of Amber Dale’s Pumpkin Patch, says there are several key tips to take care of a Christmas tree.
“A good fresh tree, with some good moisture inside, will prevent it from drying out. A dry tree is going to be the culprit. You want to have the right stand,” said McDonald
McDonald also says to keep an eye out on faulty outlets and don’t overload your tree with lights.
