Good Shepherd Center hosts coat drive
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Several local organizations teamed up today for a meaningful coat drive aimed at providing winter coats for children in need.
Parkway Subaru, Operation Warm, and the Good Shepherd Center joined forces to collect and distribute around 500 coats during the Good Shepherd Center’s regular grocery giveaway event.
Megan Verdi, with the Good Shepherd Center, shared how community partnerships like these are in making a difference:
“Wilmington is such a philanthropic place, and so many people are willing to help. We just need to make sure people know what’s available—like today’s coat drive. Partnering with other non-profits and businesses in Wilmington is so important to us.”
The coat giveaway was a no-questions-asked event, with no pre-registration required. Coats were handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.
