Gough’s 13 leads Heide Trask in 56-45 win over Richlands

ROCKY POINT, N.C. (WWAY) — A strong showing early on led to Heide Trask girls basketball coasting to the end and earning a 56-45 home win over Richlands on Monday.

The Titans were up 19 at halftime. Despite the visitor’s best efforts, Heide Trask held firm for the victory.

Sophia Gough led the home side with 13 points.

“Our coach was just saying how we were playing really, really good,” Gough said. “He said just to keep going at it and don’t hold back. We just were all hyped up because it was a really good first half for us. I think our strength was how well we worked together and passing the ball together and movement. I thought our defense was really, really good.”
