Governor Cooper orders all flags to half-staff in memory of Greensboro Police Sergeant killed

(WWAY) — Governor Roy Cooper has ordered all U.S. and NC flags at state facilities to half-staff immediately until sunset on January 3rd.
The move is in honor of Greensboro Police Sergeant Philip Dale Nix who was killed in the line of duty.
Nix was off-duty when he saw a crime at a Sheetz gas station, the Greensboro Police Department says. When he tried to intervene, he was shot and killed.
Three people were arrested for the crime, with one being charged with first-degree murder.
