Governor Stein to host Juneteenth celebration at Executive Mansion

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — Governor Josh Stein is inviting North Carolinians to attend a Juneteenth celebration at the North Carolina Executive Mansion on Friday.
The event will commemorate Juneteenth, the federal holiday that marks the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the former Confederacy.
According to the Governor’s Office, the community event is open to the public and will feature activities for all ages. Complimentary hot dogs and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided by the Executive Mansion.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase meals and treats from local Black-owned food trucks and other vendors located on North Blount Street and East Jones Street.
The celebration is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, at the North Carolina Executive Mansion, located at 200 N. Blount St. in Raleigh.
