Groundbreaking ceremony being held for River Road Roundabout Monday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The City of Wilmington is breaking ground on a new single-lane roundabout at River Road & Independence Boulevard on Monday at 10:00 a.m.
The ceremony will be held at 4088 River Road.
The $2.42 million project is funded in partnership by the City, Riverlights, and Proximity Watermark Development. It is designed to ease congestion and improve safety at this busy Wilmington corridor.
The intersection will continue to be partially closed, and the ceremony will only be accessible from the north. Proceed south down River Road past the City’s Operations Center. Parking will be available at the road closure just north of the intersection of River Road and Independence Boulevard.
