Groundbreaking ceremony held for second Michaal Jordan Family Clinic in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Novant Health held a groundbreaking ceremony for the second Michael Jordan Family Clinic Tuesday afternoon.

Construction began on the second clinic on Princess Place Road, shortly after the first one opened back last month on 15th and Greenfield streets.

Since the first location opened, more than 800 people have visited the clinic.

Administrator Nicholas Green said these clinics do more than care for someone’s health.

“We have community health workers and social workers on site that actually help connect you with different resource,” Green said. “So we’re not looking at just the person’s health, we’re looking at the whole human. Social determines other than health like food insecurities, housing. All those things that make or that impact someone’s health.”

The second clinic is expected to be open by the end of the year.
