Gun shop owner: Gun safety class ‘packed’ after terror attacks

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Surf City gun shop owner says her gun sales are up and so is the attendance at her gun safety class.

Last week we told you Surf City Guns and Ammo owner Dorothy Royal was seeing an increase in pistol and rifle sales. This weekend she said her monthly gun safety class was packed.

Royal took this picture from the Holly Ridge Fire Department Saturday. She said usually her class averages about 25 people. Yesterday, she said there were almost 70 people.

Royal said she has not seen a class that full since the Newtown Connecticut elementary school shooting.

The class is held second Saturday of the month from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
