Hallsboro man pleads guilty to 2020 murder

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — A Hallsboro man has pled guilty to a murder committed in 2020.
Nigel Bracey, of Hallsboro, pled guilty to Second-Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and being a Habitual Felon in Columbus County Superior Court on April 5.
His plea is related to the murder of Joshua Tedder, which occurred on April 7, 2020 in Hallsboro.
Bracey also pled guilty to Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. That plea is related to an incident which occurred in the Columbus County Detention Center in November 2021.
Senior Resident Superior Court Judge C. Ashley Gore sentenced Bracey to 29-35 years in prison.
