HAPPENING TODAY: Lane closures on 74/76 in Leland area

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Officials with the Department of Transportation say drivers should expect lane closures on Highway 74/76 west of Leland today.

They say one lane on the road at the Mt. Misery Road overpass will be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. today; DOT crews will be inspecting the overpass. DOT crews say after a recent crash at this location, engineers inspected the bridge and said it was safe. Today, however, they’re using special equipment to make sure there’s no evidence of damage that can’t be seen.

DOT officials urge drivers to use caution in the area.
