“Harry’s Game” makes return to UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — UNCW men’s soccer welcomed some special guests to their home field on Sunday to support local charities.
“Harry’s Game” serves as a fundraiser for organizations such as Coastal B.U.D.S. and the New Hanover County Special Olympics. Children with Down Syndrome got to play with Seahawks athletes and each other while taking part in other festivities.
The event is named after UNCW head coach Aidan Heaney’s son, and he couldn’t be more proud seeing how happy it made the children.
“It’s something we all take a lot of pride in,” Heaney said. “We help with the clinics with special needs kids during the year. Just this promoting inclusiveness is key. You see kids getting to know each other, not having any stigma. They’re just having fun.”
Later on, the Seahawks took on Wake Forest in an exhibition match.
