Haunted River Cruise: Experience ‘A Colonial Apparition’

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –The Burgwin-Wright House and Wilmington Water Tours are hosting a haunted river cruise.

This cruise, titled “A Colonial Apparition,” tells the story of the steamer Wilmington and its encounter with two Scottish Highlanders who were killed during the American Revolution.

Hunter Ingram, Assistant Museum Director for the Burgwin-Wright House, narrates the tour, providing background on the history of Wilmington and insights into the Scottish population in the area. “This is my favorite ghost story because it invokes the history of Scottish Highlanders. It’s about the colonial era, which we discuss every day at the Burgwin-Wright House. It’s a perfect way to spend a Sunday morning with people who love a good ghost story and want to learn about local history,” he says.

More tours are scheduled, with the next one on November 24th. They will also be bringing this tour back for the holiday season in December.
