Haynes Brigman appointed Wrightsville Beach town manager

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) – The Town of Wrightsville Beach has named Haynes Brigman as its new town manager.
The decision was approved during the September 12 Board of Aldermen meeting, during which the board unanimously voted to appoint Brigman to the position.
The selection is the culmination of a six-month nationwide search process led by Developmental Associates, during which approximately 60 candidates were vetted using a multi-method screening approach.
“We are excited to welcome Haynes as our community’s new town manager,” said Darryl Mills, mayor of the Town of Wrightsville Beach. “Haynes brings almost 15 years of experience in North Carolina county and municipal government. We are confident in his ability to lead our town and ensure a high quality of life for all residents.”
Brigman most recently served as deputy county manager for Brunswick County, and previously worked as town manager for the Town of Harrisburg, Town of Pineville, and Town of Yanceyville. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s in public administration from Appalachian State University. Brigman also received the Credentialed Manager distinction from the International City/County Management Association and graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Government’s Municipal and County Administration course. Additionally, he is certified across several areas of local government management, including economic development, zoning administration, and leadership.
In his personal time, Brigman is actively involved in his community, serving in both civic and nonprofit organizations, including the Rotary Club, Ruritan Club, YMCA, Chamber of Commerce Leadership Committee, and was the past president of the Appalachian State University Local Government Alumni Association. He currently resides in Leland with his wife, Carrie, and their two sons Aiden and Calen.
“I am thankful for the opportunity and look forward to leading this great community to a bright future. Wrightsville Beach is a beautiful, thriving town, and recognized far and wide for its outstanding people, places, and businesses,” said Brigman. “Living in the region, Wrightsville Beach is a special place for my family and me, and I am honored to serve the residents of this exceptional town.”
Brigman will begin his role as town manager on October 7.
