Henderson County Sheriff’s Office gets two new K-9 pups

HENDERSONVILLE, NC (AP) — The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has two new puppies to join its K-9 corps.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release Monday that two 10-week-old, female bloodhounds are joining the department and will be trained to locate missing people and to track suspects.

The bloodhounds will join two other recent additions, narcotic search dogs Gitmo and Maik, two Belgian Malinois dogs. There are also two older bloodhounds on the team, Jill and Bella, who are trained to locate missing persons and track suspects

The sheriff’s office is asking some fifth-grade students to suggest names for the new puppies. The names will be announced next month.
