High school football player left behind in Wilmington


JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County (WCTI) — A high school football player didn’t make it back on the bus after last Friday’s game and was left behind.

Onslow County Schools officials are now taking steps to make sure it never happens again. The football player was left behind following a game between Northside High School in Jacksonville and New Hanover High School. The game was played in Wilmington.

Suzie Ulbrich, Public Information Officer with Onslow County Schools, told NewsChannel 12 in a statement the situation was investigated and it was discovered the school protocols were not followed.
