Historian Dr. Chris E. Fonvielle Jr. to talk on Battle of Moores Creek Bridge in Pender County

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — Pender County Library and the Pender County Historical Society and Museum will host historian Dr. Chris E. Fonvielle Jr. for a public talk on the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge.

The talk about a pivotal early victory for Patriot forces during the American Revolution will take place on Tuesday, February 24 at 6 p.m.

Dr. Fonvielle is a professor at UNCW and known for his engaging scholarship on the Cape Fear region’s Revolutionary War and Civil War History.

Prior to the talk, the library will host a reception from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dallas Herring Library Annex at 108 S. Cowan Street. This will feature displays of library materials related to the Battle of Moores Creek bridge and the Revolutionary era.
