History takes flight in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Working history took flight today as an authentic World War II B-17 Bomber plane flew around Brunswick County. WWAY had a ticket on that flight! And we’re not the only ones invited.

You can get your chance to go up in the bomber over the weekend at the Cape Fear Regional Jetport, or you can tour the plane for only $10.

Organizers say that you can learn a lot from coming out and seeing the plane.

“It’s history, it’s living history. So, for some people it’s just a plane ride, but for a lot of people it’s a trip back in time,” said Lorraine Morris, one of the pilots. “Especially if you try and put yourself in the position of some of the people who were in these airplanes during the war.”

If you want to take a ride in it, you can find a link with pricing information and sign ups, click here.
