Hoggard and New Hanover both win Monday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The boys basketball team at Hoggard High School tipped off the new season without any of their football players on Monday night due to the fact the Hoggard football team is still alive in the state playoffs. Hoggard still managed to beat Coastal Christian. New Hanover and Dixon also played on Monday. The Dixon boys basketball team is considered to be one of the best 2-A teams in the state, but they were not able to defeat New Hanover. Check out our game highlights.

WILMINGTON, NC (CFCC RELEASE) — Bradley James and Tony McNeill each recorded a double-double and TJ Evans scored a game-high 36 points as Cape Fear cruised past S.C. Sports Academy 116-59 on Monday night. “Tonight was all about the kids,” said CFCC Coach Ryan Mantlo. “They played the game the way it’s supposed to be played, together and with great passion. What a great way to head into Thanksgiving break.”
James had 15 points and 15 rebounds, while McNeill chipped in with 12 points and 13 boards. Josh Lindsey added 30 points and Matt Lindsey finished with 21 points and eight assists.
The Sea Devils moved to 5-3 overall heading into a road trip to Brevard, Florida for the Eastern Florida State Classic Dec. 5-6.
