Homeowner charged with setting fire that destroyed house

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Pender County Sheriff’s deputies have charged the owner of home destroyed by fire last night with setting the blaze.

Investigators say gary futrell is charged with second degree arson. They also say Futrell was intoxicated during questioning last night.

Futrell is in the Pender County Jail under a $20,000 secure bond.
