Horton faces mysterious challenger in congressional primary
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — North Carolina’s primary election just days away and candidates are gearing up for the polls. U.S. House Seven is an interesting race to say the least.
On one side of the coin, you have democrat Kyle Horton who has been on the fronts of campaigning. Then there is Grayson Parker who hasn’t done as much.
We reached out to Grayson Parker by both phone and social media but did not receive a comment. He told the StarNews his top priority is tackling economic injustice. Horton has a big focus on economy, health care and protecting our water. She says it’s to protect families and the future of the area.
“We need an economy that works for all. We need good paying jobs, right now for far too long, we’ve had profits without prosperity. We basically had an economy that rewards hoarded wealth instead of hard work. I’m really fighting to put our families first,” Horton said.
According to the StarNews, both Parker and Horton are against offshore drilling. Horton says she has been far more interactive with the public while campaigning and has held multiple town halls while she says her opponent has barely had any.
Horton also said a major issue for her is veteran suicide prevention and wants to continue that fight at Capitol Hill.
