House hits the road to beach

OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY ) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office says everything went well moving a house down NC 211 today.

Because of the size of the house it had to be moved from Southport along the highway and over the bridge at the west end of Oak Island, through town and to its new home on Long Beach Road stopping traffic for a time.

The Sheriff’s Office says drivers took alternate routes for the most part allowing for the move to be completed in just a couple of hours.
